                    Australian Cattle Dog Report

Disappointing numerically but some  really nice examples of this charming breed.

PD(1)  1st  BP & Res CC  Jepsom's Austmans Justin Credible what a good start to this small entry with this very promising youngster. His balanced outline and decent neck are a delight to the eye, his head handles so well, ample width in skull, moderate stop and a decent breadth and length in muzzle. His eyes are sufficiently dark, are a good shape and so expressive with that wise look clever dogs have. Still to develop fully in body but the spring and depth of rib are there, he is well endowed with substance and  bone with neat feet.  A delight to see he has been well schooled to move out with reach and drive.

LD(1)  1st Smith's Morrow Forever To Blue Jeans CDx UDx MDx quite a different mould to this dog.  He is a good height at the withers, has enough neck allowing good head carriage and he was presented in excellent bloom.  He circles the ring with a light, purposeful stride but in the challenge his lack of spring of rib and somewhat straight stifles went against him. On the plus side his head and expression were a delight.

OD(1)  1st CC & BOB Birch's Am Ch Adaluma High Speed medium sized, all male in head and expression, lovely neck denoting strength, well laid shoulders and a lovely width in forechest, then straight forelegs and neat feet. His length/height proportions are spot on, his back firm and his profile action was so smooth and ground covering as he circled the ring. I am led to believe he was short listed the Group.  Congratulations!! OOps...I believe this is his 3rd CC so his UK crown can be added.

PB(1)  1st Reynolds' Austmans Barb Dwyer With Shardlaw medium sized well bodied youngster with  balanced length/height ratios.  She scores in spring and depth of rib and has sufficient width in upper thigh leading to firm hocks. Skull is good of good width and flattish, enough stop but I would like a tad more length to her muzzle to complete the picture.  However, she stepped arounery well angulated hindquarters all add to her appeald the ring with a very light , ground covering stride.

JB(1)  1st & Res CC Jebson's Austmans Hold My Beer a very shapely well angulated bitch with much appeal when stacked.  Such a well balanced head with expressive eyes and a knowing expression.  She has a good shoulder assembly, perhaps a tad more chest width would enhance her appeal and a fraction more spring in rib.  Her reach of neck and flowing outline aided her cause and her profile action is so smooth and ground covering.

LB(2)  1st & CC Naylor's  Joker Show Russian Collection at Skaijak (Imp Rus) such a well coated blue whose outline in stance draws the eye.  So well ribbed, decent arch to her neck, supple loins, sweeping croup line and good thigh width were all plus points.  Her head handles so well, the eyes a good colour and so expressive and her profile action smooth and purposeful.  Not quite so tight in front action when fore viewed which swung the BOB card to the male. But delighted to learn this win gives her a well deserved title. 2nd Smyth's  Goolara Fivestar a credit in condition and presentation . Her skull is a good shape with a modicum of stop.  Foreface a tad on the short side for me and her eyes a shade darker and more oval. She is very well ribbed, firm in topline, excellent croup moulding and in such good bloom.  I'd like more bend of stifle to complete the appeal in stance but she uses herself well circling the ring.
