LKA 2024
Beagles
Judge: Mrs Jane May (Janfrey)
I would like to thank LKA for inviting me to judge and all the exhibitors for their entries, which was a really lovely entry in these times when numbers have been on the decline. I am really happy to say I found the beagles sounder in movement than the last time I judged, and the younger hounds and classes in particular are looking really well.
I would just like to mention I have thought all year the use of social media is lovely when used to congratulate fellow exhibitors and to post personal success.
However, sadly at times is bordering on being very dangerous as posts can be quite near the mark or a tad inappropriate, then inducing comments and remarks that are out of order, particularly when have come from people not even present at the show.
I have stated previously when I’ve judged, we as judges all have varying opinions and I strongly feel we should respect those opinions even if they differ to our own. We need to remember all dogs have good and bad days even the very best, and going with the flow or what’s been winning recently is certainly not a good way to judge dogs.
