A sincere thank you to the officers of the LKA for my first appointment awarding CCs, eight years on from my previous appointment at this show, in the days before our breed had tickets. Thanks also to the stewards who were a great source of support and advice, helping the day go by smoothly. Congratulations to the show organisers for a super event first time at this venue.
I was really pleased with my entry, particularly in view of so many regular WT exhibitors having judging appointments at this show.
A few general comments. Newer exhibitors should pay more attention to the line from shoulder to foot when viewed head on – tufts of hair at the elbow break what should be a straight line, causing an unnecessary distraction. A number of exhibits were suffering from so-called winter nose – surprising how this draws the eye! I was also disappointed to see some exhibits with heavily scaled teeth. The male classes were particularly strong, plenty of choice and diverse pedigrees for those looking for stud dogs. Finally, for my BOB and BP to get placed in the groups was particularly satisfying!

1st: 3632 CANTRELL, Miss Shelley & WHALE, Mr Jonathan Carajon Goroeswr Bach Ni. A nicely sized dog with plenty of substance. Lovely expression, good dentition, square proportion in profile, nice line from skull to a decent set on. Shown in harsh coat of good colour.
2nd: 3646 ROE, Mr Nigel Dezrez Say You Say Me. ). Close up to 1st. Of excellent proportions, although perhaps needing a little more weight. Super head, keen eye, decent bite, nice outline both head on and in profile. Again, in excellent coat and colour. Lacking a little discipline on the move.

A super class of four excellent exhibits.
1st: 3635 DAVIES, Mr Phil Perrisblu the phantom. A grand dog from nose to tail, textbook proportions, and presented in tip top condition. Keen eye, perfect ear carriage, alert expression – describing perfectly the phrase ‘on the tip toe of expectation’! Lovely line from skull over well laid-back shoulders, perfect top line and tail bang on top. Decent rib cage, short coupled, ample bone, and certainly moved with purpose. DCC (made up on the day), BOB, Terrier Group 3.
2nd: 3647 ANNUS, Mr P Matranensis Wyl. Another excellent example of the breed. Perfect masculine head and expression, well laid shoulder, decent spring of rib, level top line, plenty of reach from front quarters and drive from the rear. Excellent presentation; dog and handler in perfect harmony. RDCC.

Class 1087 PB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3643 ROBERTSON, Mrs J Cunnings Xeeyou. A seven-month puppy, still very raw, but with obvious potential. Lovely head and expression, straight front, and perfectly proportioned in profile. Moved out with purpose. With coat and colour yet to come, and a little more substance on maturity, she should be one to watch. BP, RBCC and Terrier Puppy Group 4.
2nd: 3636 HARRISON, Mr Adrian Gaelic Rose. A six and a half month puppy, appearing slightly more mature than the 1st, and with a good coat and colour. Pretty expression, and well-proportioned in profile. Lost out to the 1st on rear movement.

Class 1088 JB (4 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: 3644 ROBERTSON, Mrs J Tiltser Caffe Americano at Renevis. A petite bitch of 14 months, shown in excellent coat, colour and condition. Decent expression, although ears could be better, being carried a little too far from the skull. Nice in profile, good neckline, decent shoulders and tail on top. Moved well. BCC.
2nd: 3648 YOUNG, Miss J & MCCLUSKEY, Mr Philip London Baby from Michel at Chadbrook. TAF. The last time in junior for this one at 18 months old today. Heavier all around than the class winner, but nicely proportioned, a decent mover in profile, but a little close behind. Shown in a good harsh jacket but would benefit from closer trimming on her skull. Was called back in for the RBCC challenge but did not return.
