RICHMOND GENERAL CHAMPIONSHIP DOGSHOW

 

JUDGE : SHARON LAMBERT (MATTAND)

I have many fond memories showing here and it was a privilege to be asked to judge here.

Unfortunately, the ring conditions could have been better, but we all made the best of what we had.

Thank you to my stewards, Michelle Morgan and Louise Paterson who kept everything running smoothly, and finally thank you to all the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity of appreciating your dogs.

 

VETERAN DOG : 3 (2abs)

1. Autey`s Chadfrith Alcazaba : 8 year old choc boy, presented in good coat and condition. He has the gentlest of heads, with such a kind eye. Good reach of neck into the correct lay of shoulder , well ribbed and short coupled. Fabulous otter tail.Correct turn of stifle with strong firm quarters. moved well holding a strong topline all the way.  BVIB

 

MINOR PUPPY DOG : 3

1. Smith`s Flyenpyg Jurgen Chopp JW : Was really taken with thissmart 9 month old black boy, presents a good clean outline. Head well proportioned ,with a melting expression, Good length of neck into well laid back shoulders. Solid bone leading into neat feet, Good double coat, well turned stifle, well muscled. Moved sound and true. Pleased to see him make the cut in a large quality group. BPD & BPIB

2. Mount`s Buckholt Moonbeam Monty : 6 month old black . A real baby who has the sweetest of heads. Well boned, with correct anglesall round. Excellent otter tail. Moved soundly, just needs a bit more confidence .

PUPPY DOG : 5 (1abs)

1. McLellan`s Saranden I`m On Fire ; This yellow boy has plenty of scope. Well balanced head with correct eye colour and pigment.Lovely length and depth to his muzzle. Good reach of neck leadinginto well placed shoulders. Good second thigh.Well off for bone.Coat on the blow, but good texture.Free and easy mover.

2. Edwards` Frewlings Justin Rose at Bearstone : Black puppy, 11months ,presenting a balanced profile. Quite a well developed head for a puppy. Excellent double coat of correct texture and a correct otter tail. Excellent quarters with well let down hocks.

3. Foster`s Rocheby Beal

JUNIOR DOG: 7 (2abs)

1. Metcalfe`s : Baileydales Rocket Man JW : A good sized yellow dog. Fab length of leg. Masculine head, with a melting expression. Well shaped eye of correct colour. Good strong muzzle. Well off for bone. Well ribbed and short coupled. Excellent coat and otter tail. Well balanced throughout. Positive mover that covers the ground well.

2. Perkins` McFarwin`s Grey Legacy by Keeninspires : 2 and 3 very close, just preferred the head and quarters of 2, Yellow boy with a balanced head with biddable expression. Correct front, and good rib.Excellent double coat. Moves soundly, just needs to tighten up on the front, Throwing his coat but it was the correct type and texture.

3. Edwards`Kimbajak Royal Mint

YEARLING DOG : 2

1. Johnson`s Cremino Celebrity JW: Not a big lad but balanced throughout. Good clean reach of neck. Straight front with adequate bone and good feet. Adequate angles all round, correct harsh top coat.Moves with a positive free stride.

NOVICE DOG:5(1abs)

1. Edwards`Kimbajak Royal Mint: 13-month-old yellow. Lovely eye colour and shape, just needs a little more work in the head, but should hopefully come with maturity. Moderate angles all round. Adequate bone into compact feet. Moved soundly holding a firm topline.

GRADUATE DOG: 5

1.Wiles` Richbourne Lion King : good sized yellow boy. Covers plenty of ground. Good head proportions, with a melting expression.Correct angles all round. Good bone and spring of rib. Coat on the blow but double and correct texture. Good moving boy just a little full of himself today, so a little erratic.

POST GRADUATE DOG: 8 (1abs)

1. Metcalfe`s : Rumhill Bertie Wooster by Baileydale JW: Choc boy presented in good double coat and hard condition. Good pigment and eye colour. He has a really well-balanced head, nothing overdone, but still masculine. Well placed shoulders. Good rib and short coupled. Good forechest, well laid upper arm. Moderate turn of stifle. Moves well with a solid topline and correct tailset .RDCC

2. Shirton`s Woolmans Day Dream Believer : Black dog, built on clean lines. Very kind masculine head. Stands foursquare on good bone and correct feet. His front is well angled with a good reach of neck. Level topline with a good tail set.. Another good mover

3. Sadler`s Talifen Gentleman Jack

 

 

LIMIT DOG: 12 (0 abs)

 

1. Boulden`s Rumhill Firecracker JW : Choc dog of a lovely rich colour with complimenting pigment and eye to match.  Moderate angles throughout giving a well balanced profile. A good length and depth of muzzle, Clean sweep of neck, Well boned legs into tidy feet.Well let down hocks. Moved soundly, covering the ground well.

2. Ennis-Holden`s Devonshires Yellowstone at Mariank (Imp USA): Lovely yellow boy, just lost out on first as he seemed to be carrying a little weight over the shoulders, which spoiled his outline. He has the gentlest of heads, well proportioned with a lovely eye shape and colour. Well boned, with a good rib and good strong quarters. Moved well once settled.

3. Harris` Winsleywood Wellington JW :

 

 

OPEN DOG: 4(2abs)

1. 1. Dodd`s Sh Ch Carriegame Moonshine : This dog stood out for me. Full of breed type, head coat and tail. Put down in good fit condition, carrying the correct amount of weight and in excellent coat. His head says all male, with no coarseness. A correct eye shape and colour, a good length and depth of muzzle, with a kind gentle expression. His balanced body is on well boned legs leading into well rounded arched feet. Lovely reach to his neck. Correctly angled upper arm and good lay of shoulder. elbows well tucked in then travelling down to find strong quarters with good second thigh. Fabulous wel set on otter tail. On the move he covers the ground well with a strong steady stride. Really pleased to award him the DCC & BOB.

2.Coode`s Warringahs The Bluff :A quality dog that has to be gone over to fully appreciate his qualities. Black boy that has good head proportions, a real melting expression. Lovely reach of neck and an absolutely correct front. Good bone leading to well rounded feet. Good spring of rib. Balanced angles throughout. In good coat of the correct texture and Correct moving dog, that covers the ground well.

3. Hodge`s Sh Ch Ir Sh Ch Naiken Elite Envoy(Ai) JW IR J CH

SPECIAL BEGINNERS DOG: 5 (2abs)

1. Newman`s Creamwood Silver Hawthorne (Ax3) : This yellow boy presents a clean outline. Masculine head without coarseness, well placed ears. Good solid topline both standing and on the move. Has good width to his quarters and in a good double coat.

2. Edwards` Frewlings Gary Player at Bearstone: 12 month old black. Good angles throughout. In good coat of the correct texture. Carrying a bit of extra padding today. Sound but a little loose in movement but only a young lad. Carrying a bit of extra padding today which doesn’t help.

3. Moody`s Trendlewood Ebony And Ivory

 

 

 

VETERAN BITCH : 6 (2abs)

1.Pattison`s Pattilands Shining Star:  This yellow girl carries her 12 years very well indeed. Presented in good coat and fit condition. Sweet feminine head with melting expression. A good reach of neck into correct front going down to lovely tidy feet. Good turn of stifle.Just not as strong as the dog on topline. Won this class on her movement, which could put many youngsters to shame.  BVB.

2. Welford`s Ankari Dora The Explorer : Classic 7 year old black. Balanced kind head with a soft expression, has a good length and depth to her muzzle. Adequate bone and moderate angles. Moved soundly

3. Scutcher`s Winsleywood Wild Anise JW Shcm

 

MINOR PUPPY BITCH : 4

1. Hassell & Vine`s Zackiver Bubble and Squeak at Beanalrem NAF : What a promising black bitch of 9 months old. Everything where it should be. She has the kindest expression and a good length of muzzle, her eye shape and colour is spot on. Clean through the neck into well placed shoulders Has correct harsh, double coat. Adequate bone leading into correct feet. Well turned stifle with well let down hocks, enabling a -+9+ good drive from the rear.

2. Edward`s Forseywoods Black Sapphire at Bearstone : 9 month old black . Smaller package than 1 but still balanced throughout.Well boned, with correct angles. Excellent coat and tail. Moved well holding a good topline.

3. Head`s Quinstone Sapphire Storm

PUPPY BITCH : 6 (1abs)

 

1. Melcalfe`s Trendlewood Its Only Love to Baileydale : Qualityblack bitch of 10 months so well balanced for a youngster. Kindest of heads, just right for her age totally feminine.Lovely length and depth to his muzzle. Good reach of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Well off for bone with well arched , tidy feet. Well turned stifle. Excellent double coat and rounded otter tail. Sound mover.For me just preferred the scope of the puppy dog in the challenge.BPB

2. Clayton`s Rochevale Harmony :  Beautiful yellow bitch, just coming up 12 months. Stands on good bone ,presenting a well-proportioned outline. Feminine head. Correct angles all round. Excellent double coat and otter tail. Well let down hocks. Bothbeautiful bitches and could easily swap places.

3. Reardon`s Saranden Leap Of Faith To Othamcourt

JUNIOR BITCH : 10 (1abs)

1. Allen`s Timouron Hush Hush : Was really taken with this classy black. Balanced feminine head, with a melting expression. Well shaped eye of correct colour. Good strong muzzle. Excellent rech of neck.Well off for bone and correct feet.. Well ribbed and short coupled. Excellent coat and otter tail. Well balanced throughout. Good solid mover that covers the ground well.

2. Stafford`s Farnfield Partridge  : Black bitch of very clean lines. Has kind balanced head with biddable expression. Excellent eye colour and shape. Good bone, would prefer a bit tighter foot. Balanced angles all round. Moved with purpose holding a solid topline. Two cracking bitches.

3. Dodd`s Carriegame Love To Dance (Ai)

YEARLING BITCH : 5

1. Allen`s Timouron Hush Hush

2. Wiles` & Lavelle`s Crosscroyde Chianti: Scopier Yellow bitch.Very feminine, balanced head with a kind eye of correct colour and shape. Excellent pigment. Good reach of neck into correct lay of shoulder. Lovely turn of stifle with good second thigh. Leveltopline. Correct coat , sadly on its way out. Moved with drive.

3. King`s Linthwaite Mathilda (Ai) JW

 

NOVICE BITCH :9 (2abs)

1. Reardon`s Saranden Leap Of Faith To Othamcourt : This yellow bitch was 3rd in a quality puppy class. Pretty head with good pigment, Good length and depth to her muzzle. Good bone and feet. Level topline, Excellent coat and well clothed otter tail. Short through the hocks. Moved soundly.

2. Hassell & Vine`s Zackiver Bubble and Squeak at Beanalrem NAF :

GRADUATE BITCH : 11 (2 abs)

1. Davis` Rochevale Palm Reader : Smashing black bitch, so well balanced and moves like a dream. Excellent reach of neck, good forechest. Tidy bone into neat feet. Strong, well let down hocks which certainly enabled her to drive round the ring. Excellent coat and well set on tail.

2. Boulden`s Rumhill Bossy Boots JW. Close decision between 1 & 2. Beautiful choc bitch. Kind feminine head correct eye colour and pigment. Good spring of rib and short coupled. Strong quarters.Put down in excellent coat and condition. Good solid mover.

3. Longhurst`s Hurstmeon Just My Cup of Tea

 

POST GRADUATE BITCH : 5 (2abs)

1. Braddon`s Trendlewood Tiger Lily : Liked thee clean lines of this yellow bitch. balanced feminine head, correct eye colour and shape. Correct stop. Excellent reach of neck. Correct front angulation. Strong topline.Short coupled. Strong quarters. Moved soundly.

2. Mount`s Buckholt Jessie Jennifer : Tidy Black bitch., built on clean lines. Melting expression. Stands forsquare on good bone and correct feet. Steady consistent mover

3. King`s Linthwaite Saffron

 

 

LIMIT BITCH: 10 (2 abs)

1. Dodd`s Carriegame Precious Jewel : Quality black bitch, lovely type. Very feminine head with that “wanting to please”expression. Good stop and length of muzzle. Very kind eye. Correct angles all round. Plenty of heart room. Solid topline and tail straight off. Strong quarters and short strong hocks which gives her a good positive movement. Carries an excellent coat and tail.

 

 

2. Shirton`s Woolman Carefree: This yellow is of a different mould to 1 but stillall quality. Such a feminine head. Again, so correct throughout. Excellent bone and feet. Presented in great coat and hard condition. Super otter tail. Correct positive mover. Pushed 1 hard.

OPEN BITCH: 6

1. Edwards Sh Ch Kimbajak Miss Jazz Swinger JW : Her expression just melted me. This yellow bitch was a joy to go over. Very feminine. Good clean lines with correct angulation all round. Well-proportioned head with good length and depth of muzzle. Adequate bone, leading to nice tight feet. Solid topline and short coupled. Correct turn of stifle. Good double coat. Excellent otter tail. Presented a lovely balanced outline. Flowed from her head through to the tip of her tail. Movement is excellent, fore and aft. Pleased to award her the BCC

2. Evan`s Eminala Star Struck Farnfield : Another yellow girl out of the top draw. Has many of the attributes of 1. Just a little longer through the loin. Sweetest of heads with excellent pigment. Lovely almond shape eye.Excellent front and neck. Correct moving bitch, that covers the ground well.RBCC

3. Bradley`s Sh Ch Nancy`s Special Treasure

SPECIAL BEGINNERS BITCH : 8 (3abs)

1. Bysouth`s Luckswarren Secret Phoenix : This black bitch has such a classic outline. Feminine, well-proportioned head. Good reach of neck, into text book front. Good bone and feet. Good rib and short coupled. Lovely harsh topcoat. Strong steady mover.BSpB

2. Goodwin`s Mcfarwins Flashing Lights : Feminine yellow bitch, great pigment. Good strong neck, into well placed shoulders.Would prefer tighter feet. Good spring of rib and short coupled. Well let down hocks and well muscled quarters. Moved soundly..
