Judging: Manchester Terrier, Terrier Group
Richmond Championship Show 7/9/24
Manchester Terrier
Judge: Janet Robertson (Renevis)
Thank you to the committee for this appointment at this level. Unfortunately, as soon as I started judging, the groups were being called, with meant judging was rushed, especially the bitches, which was very disappointing for myself and fellow exhibitors. Having said that, and despite the small entry, I was extremely pleased with the amount of quality dogs that had entered under me

1st: 1784 KNIGHT, Mrs Gillian & KNIGHT, Mr Clive Ch Talanors Typically Special. What a treat to have this young veteran lady to go over. Typical discerning temperament, very feminine appearance and of good size. Keen expression, using ears well, glistening eyes, and lovely foreface with correct depth of muzzle. Very elegant neck, correct forechest, front legs directly under withers. Body is short with rise over loin which she kept on the move too. Soundly made which resulted in correct movement front and back. Glossy coat. BB, BV.

1st: 1786 LANCASTER, Miss Faye & ROSSER, Mr Paul Erkenwyne Wildfire. A Manchester with plenty substance, who felt good to go over with good muscletone throughout. Head of correct proportions, flat skull, almond shaped eyes. Strong, fairly long neck, forelegs set well under. Body, tail and rear not as good as others.

1st: 1785 KNIGHT, Mrs Gillian & KNIGHT, Mr Clive Ch Talanors Typically Elite. I absolutely loved this chap, and was a clear winner for me, so full of type, commanding the ring, and felt he would fayre better in the group than the bitch (who I see is his Dam). He excells in head and expression, with small, perfectly positioned ears, super dark almonds shaped eyes of correct size, on a typical head of correct proportions. Lovely clean outlines. Correct front, good body proportions with correct depth of chest, slight arch, strong hindquarters that are well bent at stifle. Correct tail, tan markings and correct movement. His handler did well in showing off his attributes to the fullest. BD, BOB.
2nd: 1790 WARNER, Mr Frank & WARNER, Mrs Pam Ch Talanors Time For Fun Shcex. Another one of type with many virtues. Good head proportions with a strong muzzle. Correct neck and shoulders. Good front with correct width between legs. Same correct body and quarters from this kennel. In good condition and is well schooled. Preferred the ears and dark eyes of 1.

1st: 1789 SPAIN, Mrs A & SPAIN, Mr L Nespoli You Are My Sunshine. Sweet bitch who has a feminine head of equal planes. Clean neck, lovely hocks which go straight down onto correct semi-hairfoot feet. She has flowing lines but perhaps a little too curvy over the arch. RBB.

1st: 1783 BOOT, Mr & Mrs C & D Ysabelkid Calamity Jane With Harliboo. Compact bitch who is balanced and elegant. Skull and ears ok, strong jaw, would prefer a darker eye. The chest is a little too narrow from front but in profile she has a lovely body shape with the right amount of arch. Front pasterns sloping a little, but feet were correct. Rear quarters strong and well bent at stifle. Short tail which flowed nicely from the back.
