RICHMOND CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOWMiss Amanda MILLS
Judging: Hungarian Pumi, Pastoral Group
Thank you to the Society for this invitation to judge at this super show. A big thanks to the stewards, who thought they had done for the day, but then agreed to stay on to allow for a ring change! Finally, an even bigger thank you to everyone who entered and waited patiently through the bad weather. I really do appreciate everyone's entries.
My thoughts on my entries today are similar to the last time I judged a few years ago. Type and size is very mixed, even within the same breeding. I think temperaments are improving, only a couple today that really didn't seem happy to be there and it did affect their placings. Pigment in the whites is poor, only two today had correct pigment. Dogs were moved at a good pace and overall I thought they displayed sound movement.

Class 517 VD/B NO ENTRIES
Class 518 PD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 951 KIRKWOOD, Mrs Yolanda & KIRKWOOD, Mr Stephen Bellpins Zigazigah At Yolstek. 11m white of nice type. He presents a correct outline, good length of leg. He is balanced front and rear. I thought he had a good masculine, well proportioned head, although I would prefer a little less stop. Good enough ears. Correct pigmentation. Sound mover all directions. Should have a good future. BP and RBD.
Class 519 PGD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 947 DOCKERILL, Mrs Carol Ann Blacktide Another Night (ba3) - 16m white, decent outline. Masculine head of acceptable proportions. Balanced front and rear angles. Lovely temperament, although he really didn't want to pay attention to his handler today, therefore this made it difficult to assess his movement.
Class 520 OD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 952 PIKE & CARTER, Mrs & Mrs Julie & Ashlie Breezelyn Ear Sumut Special. 5 yr grey. Nicely put together and has a very appealing head. Correct stop, correct proportions, excellent pigment, correct eye shape. He uses his ears well and they had the correct length and set on skull, with required tipping. Balanced in build, which shows in his very sound movement. Correct tail and tail set. If I am to be picky, I'd prefer a little bit more length of leg to enhance his outline and less softer coat. Well deserved BD & BOB.
Class 521 PB (1 Entries) Abs: 1
Class 522 PGB (4 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 955 WESSON, Mrs Karoline Elizabeth Csulli Lemonade Kisses. 16m white. Lovely type and size with correct pigment all through. She has a very pleasing feminine head, it's of good proportions with correct stop. Correct ear placement with tipping. Correct medium length to neck. Maturing well in body. She is very balanced and moves very well in all directions. Maintains a level top line and positive. Coat coming on well. Correct tail and tail set. BB
2nd: 956 WOLF, Ms Jacqueline Csulli's Dawn Breaker. 16m grey, sister to 1 and was a close decision here. Another of lovely type and she is very feminine. On the smaller side, I'd prefer a bit more of her. I thought she had a little more stop than 1, but overall her head is balanced and of good proportions. Correct moderate angulation to front and rear. Lovely positive mover and is sound in all directions. This won her RBB & BSB.
3rd: 953 STEWART, Mrs Hilary Black Tide Another Time
Class 523 OB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 954 WESSON, Mrs Karoline Elizabeth Csulli Christmas Candy. 4yr grey. One I've done well by in the past, I still really like her, she is of pleasing type. Has a good outline. She has a nicely proportioned head with correct stop, excellent pigment. Balanced in construction which displays in her movement. Correctly presented coat. Had to give way to her daughters today in the top awards, but she has definitely passed on a lot of her virtues.
2nd: 950 JOHNS, Mrs Angela Breezelyn Ears A Breakthrou For Alepenkye. 2yr old grey. I thought she is of very good type. Decent outline. Good head proportions and pigment, little more stop than 1. Fairly balanced in angles, well muscled. Correct tail set.
