Thank you for making the journey to Exeter for me to have the opportunity to go over your dogs that have docked tails are Crufts 2017 where docked tails were not allowed! What a lovely entry of excellent examples of the breed. The bitches were much stronger than the dogs this time but in both sexes some were too long. The Standard asks for short backs standing over plenty of ground. Some heads were too heavy & particularly in bitches it makes them look doggy.

But on saying the above, I thoroughly enjoyed my day which was made even better by the sportmanship displayed by the ringside, it made the day a joy - thank you. Thanks too to the stewards who had a hard day.

SB D/B (0) MPD (2, 1a) 1 Hammond & Cook's Seasham Show Me The Way, at just 7 months he is an absolute baby, at present needs to tighten up & fill out as he appears too long but that should tighten up as he matures. Enjoyed his day especially on the move which of course is still unco-ordinated for age but he is a good size & has a good coat of the correct texture, good head which only needs maturity to finish, lovely eye & expression with well set & carried ears, has so much potential but just needs to come along at his own pace to finish into a good typy GSP male. PD (5,1) 1 Hammond & Cooke’s Seasham Jingle Jangle, half brother to MPD but at 11 months he is further developed, although still young he is so promising. Now just needs to grow up for he has it all there, not overlarge but he is balanced & quality, masculine head & expression, good neck & shoulders, correct topline & well carried tail, good depth of chest & well developed hindquarters, correct coat which was well presented, he moved well looking particularly good in profile, really covering the ground with ease. BP; 2 Edlin’s Mistcapel Storm Shadow, naughty youngster of nearly a year who, when he settled, moved with style & purpose, set up looked the part & really showed off his excellent neck & shoulders, strong topline & well set tail, very masculine in head & expression, His head just needs to fine down slightly to complete the picture. Good ribcage & loin & stands over the ground correctly; 3 Russell De Clifford’s Lagopusmoor Arawn. JD (1) 1 Adams’ Tequesta Poldark JW, he is quality & so very typy, in excellent muscular condition, he is one I have liked before & his progress is excellent, very masculine in head & expression, excellent neck & shoulders, good ribcage & loin leading into a strong hindquarters, he is balanced with a well set tail & a strong topline but where is wins has got to be his movement, it is effortless covering the ground with ease yet determination, he has a good coat & is an excellent example, although young & alone in the class, I could not resist him for the RCC; YD (1) 1 Desombre’s Braneath Peregrine, again alone but this did not detract from his quality & type, he is coming along nicely & where he wins is on the move, effortless yet determined, worked as one with his handler but sometimes appears slightly long which detracts from his balance but when he pulls himself together he looks correct. Masculine head & expression with a good eye & well set ears, enough neck & well set shoulders, good strong topline held set up & moving & a correct ribcage, good loin & hindquarters completes the picture, he is quality. PGD (1) 1 Mapes’ Agdenusher Mulberry, again alone but he is very masculine in outlook, slightly taller than I like but he is balanced, good head & expression, good neck. Would prefer a better lay of shoulders. Strong topline & well set tail, correct coat of the right texture, enough hindquarters, hence moved steadily & soundly. LD (4,1) 1 Russell’s Fraulynzway Lightning Bolt JW, when I saw him I just knew he was for me, on looking at his breeding I see his sire took a good 2nd behind the CC & BOB at Crufts 2017 under me! Loved his head & expression, his head wasn’t too wide it was balanced with a good eye & well set & carried ears, excellent neck & shoulders, excellent strength in topline with a well set tail, coat of the correct texture, he has hammy quarters which appealed, he has good legs & feet. In movement he is wide going away but his profile movement & head carriage was excellent, he covered the ground effortlessly with no wasted movement, set up he was exactly what I wanted, he reminded me so much of many of the dogs that have gone before, could not resist him & was pleased to hand him the CC; 2 Serpa & Graham’s Winterwell Tubby Tompkin from Nyliram JW, obviously compared to 1 he is slightly smaller all over but he balanced & a sound mover, he is in excellent muscular condition, good head & expression, good neck & shoulders, correct topline & tailset, good hindquarters & ribcage, showed & moved well using his well boned legs & feet to cover the ground well; 3 Angus’ Keigame Hvitserk of Sparkenhoe. OD (7,1) 1 Bowler’s Sh Ch Winterwell Iggy Inch JW, as I don’t watch the breed for a year before judging I had seen this dog as a youngster & he certainly appealed & his progress has been good, thrilled to have the chance to judge him as I reckon he is a great representative of the breed, he is balanced & quality & what appealed the most is his balanced head of the correct width & depth, lovely eye & expression with a good ear carriage, lovely neck & shoulders, correct topline & tailset, good coat texture, lovely ribcage & strong loin & well made hindquarters, moved so well in profile & won a strong class; 2 Mann’s Sh Ch Elfrindew Endrick to Valger ShCEx, one I have always admired & he still appeals, masculine in outlook with a excellent head & expression, good neck & shoulders, correct coat, excellent forequarters & well muscled hindquarters, again an excellent mover & a good size, he is in excellent muscular condition & a joy to judge; 3 Sielski’s Sh Ch Orchidstar Bolts Of Speed. VD (2,1) 1 Lamb & Cook’s Brooke Will Do It Through Milcook, this 8 year old was really not looking his age, he is very typical with the correct length of back & standing over plenty of ground, enjoying his day out & a joy to see. Masculine head & expression, correct neck & shoulders, strong topline & correctly set & carried tail, enough hindquarters, but well boned legs & feet, although alone he moved & showed well & it was lovely to see him.MPB (3) 1 Hammond & Cooke’s Seasham Kiss Me, litter sister to MPD & the same quality & type, she is balanced & what a cracker for one so young, she is more mature than her brother but they should have fun when they finish! Pretty head & expression with a lovely eye which will darken with age, good earset, lovely neck & shoulders, correct topline & tailset, enough depth of ribcage for age but a strong loin, correct hindquarters, moved well for one so young, showed & tried so hard, she was enjoying her day & I was pleased to meet her; 2 Brudenell-Pryke & Gallagher’s Oceanne Venatur Indicus, this 6 months baby shows potential, head needs to fine down & finish but she has a good eye & well set ears, nice shoulders leading into a strong topline & well set tail, she is feminine & a good size & balance, moved well but just as a baby she needs to tighten up but time is on her side; 3 Brudenell-Pryke & Gallagher’s Oceanne Venatur Augur. PB (5) 1 Mann’s Valger Tiggywinkle, one I have liked before in a huge class where she was shortlisted, she has gone on and at 10 months she is really looking the part now. She is quality & put down in such excellent muscular condition, she has the correct coat but she just gleamed with good health & happiness, such a feminine head & expression with a good eye & well carried ears, excellent neck & shoulders, good topline held set up & moving. She is just right for age. BPB; 2 Peebles’ Seasham Too Much Heaven, litter sister to BP, so no wonder she appealed so much making the decision difficult today. Just needs maturity to complete the picture as her head needs to finish & she needs to body up & fill out but she has so much potential, she has a good neck & shoulders, correct length of topline & a well set tail, good hindquarters & moved well covering the ground with ease & purpose, correct coat texture coming & she is just right for age; 3 O Venatur Indicus. JB (2) 1 Elrington’s Tequesta Happy Valley, litter sister to the RDCC & the same quality, she was put down in excellent muscular condition, more mature than her brother with an excellent neck & shoulder, beautiful head & expression with a kind eye, excellent topline & tailset with well muscled hindquarters & a correct ribcage & strong loin, where she comes alive is when she moves, just gliding round the ring so effortlessly, showed her socks off to beat a very good bitch into 2nd place; 2 Ellis’ Soellis Feral Beryl JW, again no mistaking her sex, this quality bitch is well made all through from her feminine head & expression, excellent neck & shoulders, strong topline & well set tail, in lovely muscular condition & she moved so well on well boned legs & feet, good length of back yet standing over the ground correctly, a good breed type who just needs time to finish. PGB (2,1) 1 Edlin’s Graygees Tsarine, another alone but still deserved her award, I know I know this bitch but the progress that her owner has made is unbelievable, she now is so typy & she shows her socks off to really show her potential. Such a pretty head & expression, well made forequarters & a strong topline & well set & carried tail, in good hard muscular condition using her strong well muscled hindquarters to cover the ground well.
