I would like to thank the committee on the Birmingham Dog Show Society for the invitation and honour of judging Pomeranians at the prestigious National Dog Show. Also, for the incredible hospitality and care given. My appreciation extends to my two lovely stewards, who kept the ring running flawlessly. It was such a lovely experience.

I would also like to thank my exhibitors for giving me the privilege of judging your dogs. For the good atmosphere and for accepting my honest decisions that were made without favour, in good grace. Without you, our breed is lost.

I was pleased with my entry as a whole. I found consistently good husbandry, clean, and well presented dogs, in good coats, that were handled professionally and considerately. The Dogs were stronger than bitches, especially in the younger classes. However, I think this is just a cycle that will correct itself. I was concerned by how many exhibits presented with poor front movement. Going forward, I think we need to put as much emphasis on correcting our movement issues as we do with trying to improve our heads, mouths, and fontanels. All of these are ongoing areas of concern within our breed that we need to focus on when breeding our future generations.

1st: 6568 FRENCH, Miss K P & FRENCH, Mr N & FRENCH, Mrs K Norvanik Gold Smith At Bincombefarm - 15 month old, entire, clear orange dog of beautiful type and correct size. Dark pigment, good stop, lovely almond shaped eye, with neat well placed ears. A good chest, short loin and his profuse double coat was presented perfectly. His long straight and well plumed tail, that laid flat over his back completed the picture. Moved well and was at one with his handler. Happy to award BSBIB and see them go on to win BSB Toy Group 2. 

2nd: 6545 BERRINGTON, Mr Richard Altinas Bamboula - 11 month old, orange, entire dog of nice type and size. Good pigment, nice ear set, good coat for age which was presented well, Moved well, just a little nervous today.

1st: 6584 JONES, Mrs Wendy Maria & JONES, Mr Adam Mariajon's Dare Devil - 6 month old, entire, wolf sable dog. A lovely sized boy who I'm sure will have a bright future. Black pigment, good mouth, good stop, lovely oval eye, closed fontanel, small neat errect ears, really nice barrel of rib and compact body, high set tail which lays perfectly flat on back. Moved so true and balanced for such a young puppy, Presented and handled to advantage.

2nd: 6607 PARKER, Mrs Sarah Daranash The Fallen One - 7 month old, orange sable, entire dog. Lovely head, dark pigment, nice almond eye, short neck, nicely balanced body, high set tail, coat coming in well and presented beautifully.Good true and brisk movement.

1st: 6560 CAWTHERA-PURDY, Mrs A Lireva's Wild And Wonderful - 8 month old, entire, dark clear orange, lovely small sized dog, whom I absolutely loved. This cheeky, extrovert and lively boy encompases everything a Pom should be.  Exceptionally pretty, Black pigment, good stop, beautiful almond eye filled with mischief. Closed fontanel, lovely neat ears which are set perfectly. Good dentition, short neck, nice chest, short coupled, high tail set with fabulous plume covering his back. A profuse correct coat that was groomed and presented perfectly. His conformation and movement did not dissapoint. So striaght and true, brisk and boyant. One to watch! I was happy to award him BPIB.

2nd: 6617 SMITH, Ms S Sueacres Centre Stage - Another quality puppy! 8 month old, entire, orange sable dog. Again, so much to like on this boy. Good mouth, nice stop, lovely eye, black pigment, neat ears, closed fontanel, short neck, great body, short coupled, high set tail, movement straight and boyant. Makes a lovely picture. Handled beautifully.

1st: 6575 HOLMAN, Mrs C Altina's Alabama True Romance Jw - 22 month old, entire, shaded sable dog. This dog has everything and is such a pleasure to go over. He's so pretty, His mouth has correct dentition and bite with beautifully clean strong white teeth, lovely expression, black pigment, beautiful oval eye, closed fontanel, tiny erect high set ears that you can't find easily as they're hidden by an abundance of head coat. Short neck, well laid back shoulder, lovely barrel of rib and short loin. Such a beautiful body. Tail set high with full plume laid flat over his back. Correct and profuse coat, which was perfectly presented. Movement matched his construction, free, boyant, straight and true. I was delighted to award him  my CC.

2nd: 6605 OSULLIVAN, Mrs S F Spanapoms Stand By Your Man - 23 month old, entire, orange dog. Another lovely boy that was also presented and handled well. Pretty head with dark pigment, good mouth, nice length of muzzle, high set neat ears, closed fontanel, good neck, nice body, short loin, high set tail with full plume laid flat over back. Balanced and free moving.

Handled well.

So vivacious and lively, causing his handler to work hard, but succeeding in getting the best out of him. Such a stunning head and expression, perfect mouth, black pigment, stunning oval eye and tiny errect ears. fabulous body with good barrel, chest and short coupling, good angulation This boy excites me, with his fabulous movement and type. One to watch! RCC

He has such a pretty expression, perfect mouth, black pigment, gorgeous almond eye and neat erect ears set high on his densely coated head. His profuse, harsly textured outer coat covers an abundance of soft undercoat. High set tail with a long straight plume that reaches over his head completes the picture. He has a fabulous shoulder, chest, coupling and angulation, that's so well constructed, it results in his brisk and boyant movement. Presented and handled perfectly. I loved this boy and wish I had another award to give him. 

2nd: 6574 HOLMAN, Mrs C Ch Altina's Henry Higgins Jw - 3 year old, entire, light orange. Another quality and deserving dog. A very pretty boy, as I'd expect from this kennel. Good mouth, stop, nice eye, very neat ears. Profuse coat that was presented beautifully. Fabulous tail set that has an enormous plume covering the whole dog. What a body! Lovely straight front, nice lay back of shoulder, really nice barrel of rib and so short coupled. Lovely angulations behind. He makes such a fabulous shape in stance and keeps it when on the move, which is true, boyant and brisk.

Moves true, straight and with aplomb.aplomb.Handled well.

She has one of the prettiest heads I've had today, it's so in proportion, with jet black pigment, a stunning almond shaped dark sparkling eye, perfect mouth, closed fontanel and an abundance of head coat. lovely short neck, good front, short coupled, creating that compact outline. Fine boned. Moves with boyancy and aplomb. Presented and handled perfectly.

Niced sized girl with a profuse and correct, perfectly presented coat. Good mouth, nice oval eye, neat ears, nice straight front, barrelled rib and nicely angulated behind. Glorious full plume that covers her back. Moved true. Handled to advantage.

She's incredible. Her mouth is perfect, flawless black pigment, good stop, just beautiful almond shaped eyes, that are filled with intelligence. Small neat ears that are perfectly set high, but are hidden in a profuse coat that makes them nearly impossible to find, closed fontanel. Short neck, placed correctly into shoulders that are well laid back. Straight front, fabulous barrel of rib and good depth of chest, short loin and good rear angulation. Her construction and movement is flawless. She has substance, she has attitude, and with her high set tail with full plume that lays flat over her back, she completes the picture of a stunning, compact, vivacious, immaculately presented Pom. So deserving of CC and BOB. Congratulations on winning Toy Group 2.

So true to type, black pigment, good mouth, lovely expression, good stop, small neat ears, closed fontanel, short neck, good chest and spring of rib, short coupled with good rear angulation. Lovely high tail set with full plume. With her good construction she moves straight and true. Her abundance of correct coat that was presented perfectly creates a lovely picture. RCC
