Judging:

I would like to thank the Society for my opportunity to judge Shih Tzu which originally had been scheduled for 2020. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for their entry and patience during my judging.

Class 1887 SBD (5 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 5181 GARDNER, Mrs Kerry Ethelsmead True Grit - Won on overall quality, good head and eye with excellent dentition. Has enough neck into good shoulders. Slightly longer cast in appearance but more compact on examination. Moved out well.
2nd: 5219 STEEL, Miss Rachael Louise & STEEL, Miss Patricia How To Rewrite The Stars For Juhua - Well put together but larger overall. Good head proportions but would prefer larger eye. Balanced movement uses angulation.
3rd: 5206 SILSBURY, Mrs J J'adoremy Mr Red Revenge - Good head and expression. Prefer this for size but not holding together on the move today,too much rise over the loin.

Class 1888 MPD (4 Entries) Abs: 0

All in this class were unsettled and all had things that worried me.
1st: 5224 SWIFT, Mrs D Thaisu Mystical Joker - When standing, had good head proportions, enough neck into balanced shoulder. Good for body and bone, did eventually show some good movement.
2nd: 5228 TURNER, Mrs C Charonnis It's Now Or Never - Liked the size and shape of this dog, good overal proportions and substance. Good movement. Underjaw very prominent.
3rd: 5207 SILSBURY, Mrs J J'adoremy Thundering Heart - Slightly longer cast but animated puppy. Needs more body, pleasing head for age.

1st: 5153 BOWNS, Mrs And Mr Jackie And Dave Matsonic Midnight Storm Over Bishbow

1&2 of similar type. 1. has slightly more schooling than 2 enabling a better assesment.I liked the size, shape and make. Both had Typical head and expression with good body proportions and substance. Sympathetically handled.
2nd: 5146 ACE, Mrs G Matsonic Dream By Day
3rd: 5193 LONGSTAFF, Mrs S Shihmali Wild At Heart - Slightly heavier made but so well put together. Good head and eye. Lots to like but unfortunately doesn't carry head when moving, spoils outline and carriage. Still young

2nd: 5193 LONGSTAFF, Mrs S Shihmali Wild At Heart - Standing alone but a very sturdy and well put together dog. The best of heads and expressions with super eye. enough neck and excellent body and chest. Holds his shape with a typical gait. Definitely knows his own mind. Would prefer higher tail to complete a perfect picture.

1st: 5187 HEY, Mrs L Lyndatzu Love Bug - Liked him for shape and size. Good for substance, good head proportions and shape. Good eye and excellent dentition. Enough body. Moves well enough and very typical. Tail a bit loose but carried over when on the move.

1st: 5227 TURNER, Mrs C Rossvale Fantastic Dream At Charonnis Jw - In appearance very typey. On examination has many very good qualities, very good head and eye. Sturdy, correct for size and substance. The most balanced and positive mover.
2nd: 5220 STEVENS, Mr N & Mrs S I Peekin Reggie Rebel-Tu -Liked this boys shape, his neck was more obvious than 1, carrying head well. Enough body. Liked his movement in profile but a bit weak behind.
3rd: 5149 BARRELL, Mr Thomas & BARRELL, Mrs Jacquie Mifcah's Return Of The King To Javerda - Good head proportions and a bit all over the place making assessment difficult. Animated movement.

1st: 5195 MAULE, Mrs P M Daltricia Jack Higgins JW - won on overall type and shape, very good to go over. with a super expression. Moved well enough but prefer more animation
2nd: 5151 BEER, Ms J M & TILLEY, Mr G Miracey Sand Warrior For Tilbe - This dog on initial inspection looks longer cast but not so on examination.Like his size and substance, super on the move , tendancy to lengthen
3rd: 5150 BARRELL, Mrs Jacqueline Mifcah's By Royal Command To Javerda - Liked this dog for his shape , size and substance. Lots to like but prefer neater front.

Class 1895 OD (9 Entries) Abs: 3 A very mixed class for type but all had their qualities without exception.
1st: 5190 HITT, Mrs T A & HITT, Mr M G Ch Miracey Zero Hour - Super sturdy and in fabulous condition. Moved so well with that fab tail carriage.
2nd: 5156 BRIGGS, Miss J Ch Bel UK Warathwaite The Kingslayer - This dog moved as well as 1, he did not disappoint on examination with super head and eye.
3rd: 5154 BRADSHAW, Mrs Julie & SYMONDS, Mrs Maralyn Ch Cremefern Trigger A Storm At Symaraju JW - Loved this dog for his overall shape and size but not as positive on the move today.

1st: 5215 GORDON, Ms T Mapimakastar Honey Edee Mio At Cavateena - Very good body and shape. Head not the best of proportions giving a weak expression expression.
2nd: 5218 STEEL, Miss Rachael Louise & STEEL, Miss Patricia Debeaux Wings Of Love For Juhua - Very good vor size and balanced on the move. In very poor physical condition. no coat.
3rd: 5214 GORDON, Ms T Mapimakastar Goldie Jol Jas At Cavateena - Pleasing head and excellent dentition. Poor construction lacking in body, angulation and substance.

1st: 5175 EVERALL, Miss F J Wharfeview Laced With Candy - Chocolate ? Super to go over , Good for size and substance , feminine. Very good expression. Good body proportions and moves so well.
2nd: 5230 VOSE, Mrs Monica Shihzarbruno Cookie - Slightly larger but well put together. Super sturdy and moves very well.
3rd: 5159 CASENTIERI, Ms Cj & Mr Tf Sunshine Miracle Alpiu Slenis Of Alchez (imp Ltu) Very petit but balanced. liked her proportions but would prefer more of her. Hopefully she will develop. Moved well.

3rd: 5225 THORNTON, Miss L M Norboo Bella Rosa - Smart puppy with lots to like. Holds herself well on the move. Good overal proportions. Only just enough neck.

2nd: 5229 VOSE, Mrs Monica Shihzarbruno Hope N Dreamz Of Cimona - Shapely with a pleasing expression.Good body and substance , holds her shape on the move.
3rd: 5235 YEAP, Ms Jie Thaisu The Crafty - Larger type with good body and substance, Pleasing expression. Moves so well.

2nd: 5191 HITT, Mrs T A & HITT, Mr M G Ir Ch Miracey Disco Fever - Very good to go over many qualities of one but took a while to settle, she did get better.
3rd: 5173 DOLPHIN, Mrs Glenys Carol Dolha's Step Out In Style - Super type with correct expression and attitude ! Very typical gait but not as positive as the winners.
