Griffon Bruxellois report
PD(5/1) 1st Wood's Star Griff Sheeridan at Delightbull Imp Ukr. whilst this young red needs time to fill out his frame I felt the quality of his head, with such expressive eyes aided by well set neat ears, gave him an advantage. Nice size, good length/height ration and the most controlled, balanced mover in this class. A bit cocky with his forelegs as he moves up and down but side on he is showy. 2nd Allen, Selby & Whtehead's Zilcan Toy Story this smooth red is a tad long cast at this stage of his development. He has a well balanced head, very good eyes and such a good spring of rib. I would like neater ears and he was a bit boisterous with his forelegs when moving Just full of himself! 3rd Mackay's Osthaen Master of the Scene
JD(5) 1st Mercer's Hierners Vidocq Ar Fennymore takes the eye on the go around being so positive and balanced in side action. His head is good, well rounded skull, decent stop, excellent turn up and jaw width. Ears a tad low set for me. But he is short backed, well bodied and so well presented. 2nd Hughes' Beauborne Redvalentino I liked his length/height ratio, being short backed and using his good neck to advantage when stacked. Rough red he just needs to fill out his frame. Profile action balanced, bit close behind. 3rd Selby & Whitehead's Zilcan Action Man
PGD(3/1) 1st Mackay's Osthaen Storm On The Horizon this all male in head and expression rough red has much to like. So well bodied, fairly compact, sufficient neck and in good coat. Keeps his shape in side action showing good hock use.2nd Robinson's Barnfall Unforgettable I liked much about him but he was simply miserable in expression with that "wish I was not here look". Nice size, well boned, very good spring and depth of rib and decent hind angulation. But tail down even when moving and he was just unhappy.!
LD(3) 1st Blore's Movalian Musketeer he was the best mover in this class, showing reach and drive and had a certain cockiness as he circled the ring. He has a well balanced head, darkest of expressive eyes and enough neck. Certainly good length/height balance but he needs to lose some bodyweight to look even better. 2nd Mackay's Osthaen Thunder In The Night well coated and presented b/t rough not keen on having his mouth looked at. Despite that I loved his head and expression aided by such neat ears. Backline dips in stance, he is well ribbed but has not the firmness in front action of the winner. 3rd Potts' Adreeam Look At Me
OD(6/1) 1st CC & BOB Meaden's Ch Beauborne Nadal At Topmead unsurprised to learn he was a Champion as he has that air of class the second he enters the ring. Immaculately coated and handled to get the best out of him. So square, beautifully ribbed, sufficient angulation and a delightful head and expression with that "glad to be here" mischevious look! Beautifully coated and presented. 2nd & Res CC Allen, Selby & Whitehead's Ch Zilcan Monkey Business another so worthy titleholder which ticked most of the boxes for me. All male in head, super eyes, excellent underjaw and head carried on such a good neck. Compact in body, so well coated and he moved around the ring as if he owned it. In a photo finish I just preferred the slightly higher ear set of the winner which aided his appeal. 3rd Swinge's Balthazar Supersonic ShCExVD(1) 1st & BV Swinge's Ch Harpersband Case In Point At Balthazar (Imp Rus)
SPBD/B(1) 1st Robinson's Barnfall Unforgettable this r/red is 8 years young and has supped at the fountain of youth! Such a good head, eyes positively sparkle with anticipation, he was in excellent coat and boy can he shift as he circles the ring. A great credit to his owners.
PB(4) a close thing between these two rough red youngsters. Both have much to like, well headed, good eyes and neat ears, bags of style such confident showgirls, circling the ring with much style. I am sure they will swap places in their careers but on the day I I felt that Elite's better ear size and carriage edged her the red card 1st Guy's Donzeata Royal Elite 2nd Mackay's Osthaen I'm Your Fantasy 3rd Mackay's Osthaen Fire Will Reign
JB(5) 1st & BP Guy's Donzeata Royal Etiquettsuch a responsive show off on the stack, this smooth red just has that "look at me I'm it" style which takes the eye. Well schooled to move out so well as she circles the ring. Handling proves that she has much promise. Loved her head and expression, compact in a well ribbed body and ample angulation. 2nd Mercer's Beauborne Rosina at Fennymore this rough red was a delight to go over on the table. Blessed with a quality headpiece, super eyes and ears aid her epxression, ample neck and so well bodied. Not the outgoing bravado of the winner as they circled the ring and hopefully she will learn to be more of the showgirl than she was today, as she is quite sound. 3rd Potts' Nialco Back to Black to Adreeam
PGB(4/1) 1st & CC Mercer's Beauborne Regina at Fennymore I liked this rough red the moment she entered the ring. Has style, is ultra feminine in head and expression, so square in length/height proportions, really well ribbed, firm topline & she was in excellent jacket. She circled the ring with such positivity and her front action was one of the best of the day. Surely title bound in this form. 2nd Wood's Raiangelite Viva Viktoria Delightbull much to like in this rough red but she was not in the best of jackets and was a bit of a shrinking violet when table handled. She is well constructed, excellent ribbing and forechest, straight forelegs and good feet. Her head is nicely rounded, the stop well defined and good jaw width. She just looked unhappy!! 3rd Blore's Movalian Burning Desire
LB(4/1) 1st & Res CC Hick & Dale's Datiro Tigger Point I thought this r/r had much to admire. Lovely size, good length/height proportions, much appeal in head and expression and so well bodied, I liked her outgoing temperament, she was in excellent jacket and moved around the ring with a touch of bravado. Should go on to her title - she deserves one. 2nd Hughes' Beauborne Pussycat Doll this red smooth has much to like. Excellent skull, stop eyes and ears. A little more underjaw width would complete the picture. She is well ribbed but for me was carrying a tad too much condition so her backline rolls when she moves. I super coat. 3rd Gullon's Datric Tiger Lily
OB(5/1) 1st Mercer's Fennymore Genefique pleasing head, eyes and expression. good length/height proportions, stepped out quite soundly but lacked the bizzazz and outgoing style of those I put over her. 2nd Conway's Stormjac Black Pearl For Es nicely headed black, really expressive eyes and neat ears. Sufficient underjaw, moderate reach in neck and nicely bodied. Not quite as good in hock action as the winner but balanced rofile action. 3rd Selby & Whitehead's Zilcan Blazinickers
