Giant Schnauzer report
How sad it is that this charming and impressive breed no longer attracts the entry numbers it used to. A breed which has always done well in the big rings and seemingly no longer attracting exhibitors.
PD(2) 1st & BP Houchins' Philoma Simon Templar at Barnsdale what a good start to the day!! Tall, all male in head and expression, excellent spring and depth of rib, ample neck and firm backline, sufficient upper thigh and in excellent jacket . I loved his keen expression and he moved around the ring with reach and drive. A title holder in the making. 2nd Parker's Draxpark Face The Chaser not nearly so advanced as the winner and lighter framed all through. His head handles well, it is balanced, lovely eyes for shape and expression. Not quite the neck and head carriage of the winner and he needs time to fill out his frame. Balanced side action but at present is narrow in front.
JD(1) 1st & Res CC Cullen's Sandie Sir Constantine De Barba Negra at Philoma a very promising youngster and surely title bound with maturity. Has such quality in head and expression, sufficient neck, firm backline and nicely angulated hindquarters. As always from this kennel, groomed to perfection and sympathetically handled on the move where he displayed good reach and drive.

LD(2) 1st CC & BOB Descere, Desceras & Pearce's Stablemasters Twist (Imp Fin) walked into the ring as though he owned it. A classy example of the breed presented in stunning coat and condition. Beautifully headed, that ever alert expression, beautifully bodied, so well muscled hindquarters and flawless in coat presentation. He out moved the opposition with reach and drive and I was more than happy to send him through to the Group. I believe winning his 1st CC and the others should follow quickly in this form. 2nd Healey's Philoma Rafael pleasing, nicely balanced head with well placed ears and good eye colour. Ample neck, not quite the layback in shoulders nor forechest of the winner. His topline is firm but I would like more rear angulation to give more reach and drive to his profile action. In excellent jacket.
OD(1/1)
SBD/B (1) 1st Parker's Draxpark Celebrity Chase, tall, waggy tailed character who was enjoying his day out! His head is well balanced, the skull flat and his eyes full of expression. He has a decent neck, is short backed and has a good spring of rib. I would like more rear angulation and he is a bit of a handful on the move but he certainly was enjoying his day out.

PGB(1) 1st Plett-Graef's Ute Pink For Primavista (Imp Est) I felt sorry for her lady owner as this madam played her up non stop! Not over keen on being handled, she is a good size, very good length/height proportions, is well coated and her head proportions are balanced. Ears a bit unsettled and she needs to lose some weight.
LB(1) 1st Parker's Draxpark Girl Power another mischievous character who gave her handler a hard time...on the playful side!! Good wither height, well balanced head with very good expressive eyes and neat ears. Ample spring of rib, good topline and sufficient bend of stifle. Well coated she just needs to settle on the move to improve her chances.
OB(2) 1st & CC Thomas & Cullen's Philoma Socorro 2nd & Res CC Clay's Philoma Lucia two very good quality bitches which are surely title bound. Thery are both lovely examples of the breed, decent with height, well balanced heads with very good ears and such expressive eyes. They matched each other in length/height balance and were well presented coat wise. It was on the move that I settled them as on the day the winner was more fluent in hock action and that fraction tighter in elbow when coming towards me. Both most co-operative with their handlers.
