Many thanks to exhibitors for their support at my first Labrador CC appointment. I found that both dogs and exhibitors had excellent temperaments.  I was ideally looking for a medium sized dog within the standard, with good bone and substance without fat, and also type and soundness.  I found plenty  of these.  What I didn't find were good coats - throughout the entry the summer coats were in poor condition and a healthy coat became the icing on the cake.

Class 1383 MPD (5 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3795 SMITH, Miss Caroline Flyenpyg Jurgen Chopp - 7 months black with a typical masculine head. Outline was balanced with good depth of chest and correct angulation at both ends. Nicely bodied up for age. Showed alertly and moved very well. Scored over 2 on coat. Best Puppy Dog
2nd: 3765 MCLELLAN, Mr & Mrs D & S Saranden I'm On Fire - very attractive yellow , another with  good balance. Super head and expression, lengthy neck leading into good front assembly with strong bone. Firm topline, strong hindquarters. Sound, showed well.

1st: 3800 WALTON, Mrs S M B Gallybob Uno - Yellow, just 1 year old and a lovely shape.  masculine head, good neck and shoulders. Straight front, strong bone, short deep body with well-fitting elbows.  Strong hindquarters, and moved well when settled.

2nd: 3769 METCALFE, Mrs J & METCALFE, Mr A Baileydale Rocket Man JW  - 13 month yellows, bigger than 1 at this stage but a lovely shape and strongly built. Super head and expression. Lovely neck, front angulation and forechest with well-fitting elbows. Good topline and tailset. Stylish mover.

1st: 3798 TULLOCH, Mrs Diana Binnaig Bonnach For Tullochmohr - 18 months yellow , maturing nicely. Attractive head, good outline and strongly built. Good front angulation, correct forechest,  good bone, front and feet. Deep chest with close fitting elbows. Carrying an extra pound or two but it didn't affect his sound movement.
2nd: 3804 YOUNG, Mrs Elaine Jean Potterspiney. My Sovereign - nicely made thoughout, not as masculine as 1 and coat not at its best. Deep chest with good elbows. Strong hindquarters and moved soundly.

Super head and expression with good eye colour.  Lengthy  neck into correct front construction, with good forechest, straight bone, tight feet. deep body, firm topline. Strong hindquarters which enabled him to cover the ground well. Pleased to award him the RCC
2nd: 3696 BAMBROOK, Mrs Karen & BAMBROOK, Mr Carey Winsleywood Waghorn At Ravoakar JW  -  yellow with an attractive head and good overall shape and type.  Good length of neck and correct front assembly w ith good forechest.  Body deep with short loin and firm topline. Correct rear angulation. Moved soundly and showed well.

2nd: 3737 FINNEY, Miss L Carpenny Kipling -  black dog with a typical head.  Good forequarters with straight front and deep chest.  Firm topline leading to good tailset.  Moved soundly but didn't like the heat and won his place on his overall construction.

1st: 3773 MULLETT, Mrs T A & MULLETT, Mr M J Shaymiloney Schinus Afinmore - 8 years, with masculine head, good  neck and front assembly.  mature deep body with firm topline carried well. Well set tail and super hindquarters. Moved soundly and showed well.
2nd: 3780 PERCIVAL, Mrs Mac Ch Wynfaul The Wizard Jw - 10 years, a smaller dog with a lovely outline. Attractive head. Good neck and correct angulation front and rear.  Dead level topline and correct hindquarters. Moved well, and never stopped wagging.
