Miss S Maycock

Judging: Pekingese, Toy Group

A word about the use of social media.  I understand the ease of putting an entry onto a group page to inform others about the numbers but please don’t criticise the number of dogs entered.  As we all know when showing dogs, it is an expensive day out and I understand if people do not want to enter for that or any other reason.  Although the entry was low it most certainly was not poor.  Thank you to all those who posted support following the declaration of entry.

Thank you to the Officers and Committee of the Darlington Dog Show Society for inviting me to judge this well organised show on Friday, 15th September.  Thanks also to my two excellent stewards. Unfortunately, the ground conditions were not good which made it difficult to assess movement and as a breed had been in the ring before us some of the dogs were distracted.

Puppy Dog (2 entries)

I wish I had been given two first place cards to award for both of the puppy classes.

  1. Cockshott & Livesey’s Livanda Valentino

A lovely dog at just 6 months old with lots of promise.  Beautiful pigment, lovely head, excellent construction with a good tight front, nice spring of rib and moved well considering the ground conditions.

  1. Morley & Hitchcock’s Lizlanmore Nevinson

Another lovely puppy with all the correct attributes and lots of promise.  The winner was overall more mature but this puppy is definitely one to watch.

Junior Dog (2 entries)

  1. Thomas’ Meritorous Forever Dreamer

A small, compact & heavy to pick up 15-month-old dog.  Lovely front and well sprung rib.  Beautiful wide, shallow head and face with excellent pigment. Good muscle tone and very sound. Moved as well as he could under the conditions.

  1. Easdon & Martin’s Yakee A Blast From The Past

Small dog with a lovely head with open features, short neck pear shaped body, good spring of rib, level topline.

Post Graduate Dog (2 entries)

  1. Lund’s Yakee The Sun God with Magentizzam

Lovely dog with good construction, rib cage and level back.  Nice head with good pigment.  Very sound.

  1. Patterson’s Bratilda Lightening Boy

A good all round dog with a fabulous character.  Moved well.

Limit Dog (1 entry)

  1. Thomas’ Meritorous Welsh Whisper

On the day he had everything together, correct size and picked up well.  Excellent rib and fantastic width of chest.  A handsome boy with lovely pigment and beautiful head. A very worthy winner of the Dog CC and Best of Breed.

Open Dog (2 entries)

  1. Easdon & Martin’s Yakee Expecting Miracles

Very heavily coarse coated dark brindle dog who showed well.  He has a lovely dark eye and nice head.  Well sprung rib cage with adequate construction. Reserve Dog CC

Puppy Bitch (3 entries)

  1. Rogers’ Ralshams Lady Madonna

I love this puppy.  A beautiful temperament crowns this lovely girl who has the most beautiful and feminine head framed by her very glamorous coat and fringing.  Excellent pigment with a lovely dark and lustrous eye, just as it should be.  Her construction is superb with a well sprung rib and tight front.  She moved well considering the conditions.   Delighted to award her Best Puppy and Reserve Bitch CC.

  1. Lizlanmor Queen of the Night

Another beautiful puppy showing a great deal of promise.  Slightly more immature than the winner but gave her a good run on the day. One to watch.

Limit Bitch (1 entry)

  1. Cockshott & Livesey’s Happy at Tuggyra of Ming Mira

A lovely size girl with feminine head, lovely pigment and a dark, lustrous eye.  Her construction is extremely good and has a well sprung rib with a beautiful shaped body.  Pleased to award her the Bitch CC.

Open Dog (3 entries)

  1. Rogers’ Ch. Klerkshof Sara at Ralsham

Lovely feminine head with beautiful pigment & eyes. She had a lovely topline and good construction with toned hind quarters.  A lovely, quality bitch. Reserve Bitch CC.

  1. Easdon & Martin’s Ch. Yakee Dear Prudence

Another lovely girl but preferred 1.  She has a well sprung rib and good sound construction. Nice head with lovely eyes and a good coat.
