Thank you to the exhibitors for bringing their dogs under me today, my second time giving CCs, in a breed I have been involved in for over 25 years, and have so much passion for.

1. GRIFFIN-WOODS, Mrs C Ch Migwell Soloman's Puzzle (ai) One I have given Top Honours to before and still very much to like as Veteran. Brown dog, unmistakably male in muscular condition, but not overdone in any way. Balanced angulation fore and aft, lovely head and expression, tight eyelids, scissor bite. Broad skull, good length of muzzle, ears set well up on head, good length of neck. Excellent depth and breadth of rib, well ribbed back into short loin. Good length of leg with sloping pastern and well rounded hare feet. Breed typical rise in topline from base of wither to croup. Moved out freely with a steady workmanlike gait, so correct for the breed. Short, dense double coat of woolly undercoat and harsh outer layer, with correct oiliness and texture. BV.
2. MURRAY, Miss Lorna Takoda Nathan Sedge dog, of a different type to 1. Kind expression. Broad round skull, length of muzzle and skull equal, muzzle pointed with thin lips, scissor bite. Ears of medium leather set well up on head. Slightly longer in body than height, with level topline. Straight legs, of a good length. Small neat hare feet. Good depth of chest, reaching just below the elbow, but would prefer more breadth between the forelegs. Good length of rib with medium tuck to short loin. Moderate angulation fore and aft. Coat of a good texture but "on the blow" today.
3. RIGBY, Mr D N Chesepi Ulysses Another different type, but still within breed standard. Heavier built unmistakably male, sedge dog. Short and broad muzzle and broad skull, small ears set well up on head. Deep broad ribcage, short loin and rise in topline from base of wither to croup. Short muscular well boned legs. Excellent coat. Moved ok.

1. MORRIS, Mrs J R Penrose Visual Impact A cracking deadgrass dog puppy. Nothing overdone. Free stood beautifully, showing off his balanced outline. Skull proportions correct, kind eye of pale amber colour, tight eyelids, small ears of medium leather, set well up on head. Medium length muscular neck, leading into well laid shoulder, with matching return of upper arm. Excellent depth and breadth of chest for age, well ribbed back into short loin. Slight rise in topline from base of wither to croup. Straight muscular legs of equal length to depth of body, well boned, slightly sloping pastern, hare feet with well rounded tight toes. Matching hind angulation, well turned stifles with moderate length of rear pastern. Straight when viewed from behind. Sound, free movement on a loose lead, so correct, without any exaggeration or flashiness. RDCC BP

1. HAYES, Mrs Julie & HAYES, Mr Jason Tideflight Floki A very well put together, unmistakably male dog. Broad rounded skull with medium stop, muzzle length equal to length of skull. Kind expression. Medium sized amber eyes set wide apart, tight fitting lids. Muscular neck of medium length leading to well sloping shoulders. Good return of upper arm putting forelegs well under his body. Straight strong, well boned forelegs, slightly sloping pastern. Excellent feet. Well developed chest, deep, broad, well sprung ribs, ribcage of good length, moderate tuck up to short strong loin. Body of medium length with hindquarters slightly higher than the withers. Strong, well muscled hindquarters, moderate angulation, well turned stifles, muscular second thigh, medium length of rear pastern. Strong tail of medium length, slightly curved and held slightly above the level of the back on the move, which is perfectly acceptable in this breed. Once settled, he moved effortlessly, showing off his strength and power. Super thick, short, harsh oily waterproof outer coat, with a dense woolly undercoat, ideal for wildfowling outings! Pleased to award him BOB & DCC
2. MURRAY, Miss Lorna Muireatai Teris Love another bouncy young male, of a different type to 1. Head of correct proportions, with pointed muzzle, tight lips and scissor bite. Ears of medium leather set high on head. Moderate angulation fore and aft. Good depth and breadth of chest. Well sprung ribs, well ribbed back into short loin. Level back. Well boned legs, of good length. Medium length of rear pastern. Hare feet with well rounded tight toes. Excellent short, oily, dense coat with harsh upper layer and woolly base layer. Enjoying his day out a bit too much, which reflected in his movement and tail carriage.

1. RIGBY, Mr D N Chesepi Waco A smaller, very dark brown male, with plenty of substance. Broad round skull, length of muzzle and skull equal, medium eyes set wide apart, thin lips, scissor bite. Small ear set high on skull. Kind expression. Medium length of neck into sloping shoulder. Good depth and breadth of chest with prominent forechest and well sprung ribs. Depth of body equal to length of leg. Well boned straight forelegs, slight slope to pastern, neat hare feet. Well ribbed back, medium tuck to short loin. Level back. Moderate angulation fore and aft. Excellent short, thick, oily coat, with harsh outercoat and fine wooly undercoat. Best mover in the class.
2. MORRIS, Mrs J R Longmeadow Barnegat Bay's Surfer at Penrose. Deadgrass dog, another with an excellent coat texture. Bright and happy disposition. Correct head proportions, thin lips, scissor bite. Ears set well up on head. Medium length of neck into sloping shoulder and good return of upper arm putting his legs well under him. Ample forechest, depth and breadth of chest. Slight tuck into short loin. Straight back. Muscular hind quarters, well turned stifles, plenty of angulation, stands over a lot of ground.
3. MURRAY, Mr & Mrs Des Sea'nland Master Of The Sea For Riverrun Larger brown dog. Kind expresssion, good coat, good length of leg. Chest deep and well ribbed back to short loin, matching angulation fore and aft. Not moving his best today.
VB 4 (1)
1. COPPIN, Miss Joanne & DAVIES-JONES, Mr Darren Dallandor Jocasta Ash bitch One I have judged before when she just missed out on top honours. Super, feminine, breed typical head and expression, she was certainly enjoying her day. Well proportioned with a good slope of shoulder and matching return of upper arm, putting her legs well under her body, where they should be in this breed. Deep and broad chest, reaching below the elbow, with prominent sternum. Good length of body, well ribbed back into good tuck up and short loin. Muscular fore and hind quarters, excellent rear angulation to match her forequarters, medium length of rear pastern. Tidy hare feet. In excellent jacket to complete the picture. Balanced movement with no wasted energy and totally sound. Despite her age, she was presented in hard fit condition and handled impeccably to show her best attributes. Well deserved BCC
2. MORRIS, Mrs J R Penrose I Dream A Dream Another excellent quality bitch, who could easily have swapped places with 1 on a different day. I was surprised that neither of these bitches had their title yet. Another beautiful feminine head, sadly had some colour loss on her face from scarring, but this is not to be penalised in this working breed. Good length of neck into another super front, correct lay of shoulder and excellent length of upper arm, setting the forelegs well under the body, which this kennel has retained over the years. Deep, well developed and well sprung ribs, level back with short loin. Muscular hindquarters with a good turn of stifle, plenty of angulation, covering the ground well. Excellent coat. RBCC
3. PONT, Miss C A Ch Penrose Hash Brown SGWC Still lots to like about this bitch, now she is in her veteran years. A rarity in the breed, but not amongst her kennel mates, being a full champion. Without her best jacket today and showing her age against the younger veterans, she moved well and is still enjoying her days out.
PB 2 (1)
1. MORRIS, Mrs J R Penrose Victrix Ludorum Wearing a super sedge jacket of excellent texture and moving steadily and soundly, showing plenty of breed attributes. Nice head with kind expression, good length of neck, excellent rib cage and forechest for age, moderate angulation fore and aft. Straight legs with sloping pastern and neat feet. Pipped to the post by her brother for Best Puppy today.
JB 1

Matching angulation fore and aft. Straight legs of good length, tight feet. Enough spring of rib for age. Moved well once settled, enjoying her day out.

2. COPPIN, Miss Joanne & DAVIES-JONES, Mr Darren Pixiesrock Queen Of Hearts At Elwistone Compact bitch, carrying a bit much weight today which affected her overall outline and movement. Feminine head of correct proportions with soft expression. Medium length of neck into well laid back shoulder and good return of upper arm. Well sprung ribs with good depth, breadth and length. Short loin. Ample bone. Well rounded hare feet. Coat a bit soft with a tendency to curl.
