                                    Kooikerhondje report

What a very sporting and enthusiastic band of supporters for this breed and it was a pleasure to judge them. The only problem was that under the floor covering there were several  unseen metal clamps which made a strange noise when trod on and a number of exhibits were distracted by them.  One exhibit had in fact to be withdrawn as it just refused to budge after the first encounter.  Not the Society's fault but I know the problem will be rectified soon.

SBD(1)  1st & Best SB. Harvey's Kerflooiker Gynn  the first of several which did not like the floor covering so movement a bit hard to assess.  His head is well balanced, kind eyes and sufficient underjaw.  Medium neck length, nicely ribbed and very good second thigh.  Spotless coat presentation and gave glimpses of positive action!!

VD(3)   Always heart tugging to choose between veterans but here I felt the leading two were almost a dead heat.  Both correct height and length/height balance, both  coped well with the ring and moved out soundly, very happy and tail waggers and worthy representatives of the breed. I felt that on the day the winner just had the edge in expression, but it was very close. 1st Whitehead's Gladsheim Helios  2nd William's Cairbraid Onwaba Lukimbi of Gladsheim  3rd Guy's Gladsheim Elaondoro At Kerelkoor

JD(1)  1st  & BD Davies' Twybrook Barenhaute what a stylish and beautifully turned out youngster this is.  Lovely head balance, such kind and knowing eyes, ample reach in neck and his outline just flows.  In excellent coat he coped well with the ring and moved out with a brisk, even striding gait.

PGD(2)  1st Purser's Twybrook Charming Prince  big enough for me but all  male in head and expression, such a good spring and depth of rib, the firmest of backlines and moderate hind angulation.  Flawless in coat presentation and boy can he shift around the ring with reach and drive. 2nd K. Gynn

LD(1)  1st Gutteridge's Benitin Trjan of Geduid my first note says "very vocal"!! His head is well balanced, loved his eyes and expression and he uses his ears to best advantage.  Enough neck, so well bodied with a well set and carried tail.  Pasterns could be firmer, he has enough bend of stifle but needs to calm down when moving.

OD(1) 1st & Res BD Davies' Millhanger Kemboy what a character this lad is!!  He clearly loves being the centre of attention - hence his somewhat gay tail carriage!  Lovely headpiece, so wise and expressive eyes. Loved his well arched neck and level backline, sufficient bend of stifle and super coat presentation. For me he needs to move at a slower pace as he throws his  front feet to the side at speed.

GCD(2)  1st M. Kemboy  2nd  Benitin Trojan of G.

SBB(1)  1st Cambridge & Skjonbereg's Mooiekooi's Dolly Dodge, middle sized, a shade long in loin for me but she does have a well balanced head, eyes dark and a good shape, but she had a somewhat worried expression. Perhaps it was the floor?  She is well ribbed, was firm in backline and sure footed as she circled the ring.  In very good coat.

VB(3)  Three golden oldies ! 1st & BV Williams' Daniella Vom Thyrowberg to Gladsheim (Imp Ger) Sh. this charmer gave me that ultra feminine gaze that dared me not to like her!! Nice size, good length/height proportions, head nicely balanced and she was in good coat.  Angulations fore and aft compliment each other and she held her shape as she went around the ring.2nd Guy's Pinses Bynton Ioa Rose Mk (Imp Sw) another which is a credit to her owners.  Looks younger than her years, that knowing expression that age gives! Nice length/height proportions, pleasing head with such a soft expression. Not quite the drive of the winner on the move. 3rd Johnson's Sensation Vom Tespelkooi of Valleyrise VW

JB(1)  1st Gutteridge's Twybrook Rotkappchen of Geduld nicely coated and a good wither height.  I would like more length of muzzle to balance the  head and she is a bit lacking in hind angulation, hence her profile action, whilst sound, is short  stepping. In excellent coat and such a happy disposition.

PGB(2)  1st  M. Dolly Dodge  2nd Mar-Gerrison's Valkira Whispering Hope nice skull and stop, muzzle a tad short for me and eye a little rounder than I like. Good wither height, well bodied and in lovely coat.  Her outline on the stack appeals and she is balanced in action as she circles the ring.

LB(3)  1st & Res BB Jones' Valleyrise Inspiration at Maplecoombe such a sound moving bitch of quality showing reach and drive as she moved effortlessly around the ring. Owns a well balanced head with such a kind, knowing expression, is well bodied and angulated and covers the  ground so smoothly.. 2nd Kennedy's Crunchcroft Quantum Leap this charmer is between coats so was not at her best.  However, she is a delight to handle, so shapely good angulation both ends, sufficient  reach in neck, well bodied and ample bend of stifle which she uses so well with a light stepping profile action.  3rd V. Whispering Hope

OB(2/1)  1st  BB & BOB Johnson's  Valleyrise Illustration for me the star of the day.  She has a beautiful head and expression,  utterly feminine and wise looking, angulations compliment each other so her profile action is lithe and light as she moves around the ring with reach and drive. Jacket spotless in presentation and she is so responsive to her handler on the stack. A pleasure to judge.
