TOY GROUP

Thank you to the Officers and Committee of Bournemouth Canine Association for the invitation to judge my First Toy Group at this most friendly well organized Show.  I found many top quality exhibits and my decisions were met with much applause and camaraderie.  I shortlisted 8 which were : the Griffon Bruxellois, the Miniature Pinscher, the Pug, the Pomeranian, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Chihuahua (Long Coat), English Toy Terrier, Pekingese.  All shining examples of their breeds.

TOY GROUP 1.  Guy’s Ch Donzetata Royal Attraction – Griffon Bruxellois. Beautiful quality red rough coated young bitch, I stood back to admire her cobby well balanced silhouette, upon closer inspection I was delighted to admire her breedy pert foreface large dark round alert femme eye, small high set ear, slightly undershot given that desired monkey-like expression, short strong level topline, deep well sprung ribs, just so many positive breed attributes in one small sturdy package, shes a true positive mover covering the ground well and I couldn’t deny her today. I could have picked her up and taken her home, just adorable and teems with type. 

TOY GROUP 2.  Watkins & Bugden’s Ch Hawksflight Hot Pursuit JW – Miniature Pinscher. Stunning alert red dog well balanced, correct head planes with strong muzzle, gorgeous high set erect ear, dark eyes fitting face perfectly alert showing himself off. Stands square, deep rib, a firm frame, has a good sweep of stifle and muscular thigh, perfect cat like feet, movement contains a perfectly desirable hackney in front and rear is powerful and true. Hes bold and loves the crowd. 

TOY GROUP 3. Pike, Pike, Hill & Mallinson’s Eivisah Sonnentanz JW – Pug. Quality boy, fawn black mask, back velvet thin high set ear, dark kind round eye, slightly undershot jaw giving a breedy expression with plenty of nostril room, lovely head workings, desirable black trace on his level topline, cobby frame contains a good spring of rib and plenty of substance.  I fell in love wit
