Judging: Hound Group, Whippet

I want to thank the committee of Bournemouth Canine Association for inviting me along to judge the Whippets at their annual Championship Show. My condolences to everyone for the sad lost of Jasper Courtney, the societies Show Manager for many years. Thank you to my two wonderful Stewards, who's expertise, allowed me to get on with the job in hand. I was honoured to have the biggest entry in the show and was very spoilt for choice. The weather gods were on our side and though Whippets, love the sun as much as we do, some were feeling the heat in the latter classes. Some might say that the quality of whippets always lies within the bitches, however I was absolutely delighted to find many quality males coming through the ranks, which of course is great for the future of breeding. Judging whippets for me is all about type and movement and I was delighted to find those that fitted both the standard and my eye in the majority of the classes. Thank you to all those exhibitors for your entries and for excepting my decisions in such a sporting manner.
